This is a first for us!
We are participating in the Society of The Arts Show house in Breinigsville this year and it is very exciting! What an honor to be among so many amazing designers and artists! And it is just ONE WEEK AWAY!
If you have been following a few cryptic Instagram and Facebook posts from us, you have guessed the room we are designing is THE MASTER BEDROOM! You have to come out and see this year’s show house! It’s a very different theme and I can tell you that there will be many ‘WOW’ moments as you walk through because we have seen the creative prowess of all the interior designers and artists involved, and SOTA volunteers, as they are hustling to get ready for the doors to open to the public Saturday April 28!
We are working hard to make the most of these next five days! So every day this week we are sharing a sneak peek of our progress on our Instagram Feed and Facebook.

We hope you come visit the show house! We hope to meet you! All the designers and artists have been putting so much thought, countless time, money and effort into their rooms and you will be inspired! That is what the show house is all about! To get decorating ideas and see outstanding interior designers and local artists work in our local community!
The volunteers at SOTA have also been working hard preparing for this. They have been so kind and caring.
And there is a twist this year! The show house is called “Idea House 2018 at HoudenHAL.” The house, unlike prior years, is a modern energy efficient model home so the theme includes energy efficient, innovative room designs and sustainable products. The model home is carefully crafted by home builders Hersh and Robin Ruhmel. It’s a modern sustainable house that has charm!
Here is the information you need to know:
- The show house runs from April 28th thru May 19th
- You can buy your ticket at the door for ($20)
- Come meet the designers at the show house on May 2nd from noon to 2:00pm
- Show house is open: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Thursday 5/3 and 5/12 from noon to 8:00pm and Thursday 5/17 from 10:00am to 4:00pm
What is a show house?
It’s a fundraising project for a charity organization that takes a private residence or community property, redecorates it, and opens it to the public for viewing.
Who gets to participate?
The organization’s committee selects the designers to participate in the redesign of the house. The designers typically submit a proposal to redesign a room in the house. The designers have to consider the architecture of the home, work with existing elements that must stay in the home, and respect the time period and other constraints in the design process; but other than that they are given carte blanche for design! They turn the home into a showcase and open it up to the public to make money for the charity.
It’s a great way to get experienced designer tips, ideas, see decorating and designer trends, and support our local community!
