We had these night stands refinished rather than buying something new. We mixed two different gold paints to get the color we were looking for. Wertman and Rossetti Painting and Papering did a fantastic job spraying them for us!
We made a coffee table out of an old stool and wall clock. We weren’t sure how this would turn out but it exceeded our expectations! We used 3M command strips and industrial strength adhesive glue.
We brought in an original 1850’s picture frame and hung it as wall art. Shosh’s grandfather was an incredible artist and this was from his prized collection of frames. For a romantic touch we placed glass containers in the center and filled them with paper wrapped in jute rope. We burnt the edges so they look aged. We also included feathers. We want to imagine the papers are old love letters. Romance is still alive!
As part of our Boho Glam theme we added framed photos of classic Hollywood celebrities having fun. We included a large beach hat to add to the relaxed vibe.

The show house is called “Idea House 2018 at HoudenHAL.” The house, unlike prior years, is a modern energy efficient model home so the theme includes energy efficient, innovative room designs and sustainable products. The model home is carefully crafted by home builders Hersh and Robin Ruhmel. It’s a modern sustainable house that has charm!

- You can buy your ticket at the door for ($20)
- Come meet the designers at the show house on May 2nd from noon to 2:00pm
- Show house is open: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Thursday 5/3 and 5/12 from noon to 8:00pm and Thursday 5/17 from 10:00am to 4:00pm
