Old Stone Home Transformation
This rambling old stone home needed the family room, re-imagined. This led to a major renovation that included moving walls, but keeping the original architectural elements. This family hired us when they could not figure out how to lay out this room because the home entrance led right into the center of the space. We moved the doorway and was able to re-use the custom wood door, to create a separate foyer. This allowed us to bring in a large sofa, and create a floor plan that worked better. Above the furniture, we added a large seeded glass window to bring natural light in. We also lightened the space that was pained red, and had the original bookcases custom fit with doors. We installed a new floor, and renovated the fireplace area to include stone to the ceiling. New lighting and wall sconces, along with a cute niche for the kids to do homework at, was added.
